What You Need to Know About Highway Work Zones in Illinois

Published on May 28, 2020 at 7:20 pm in Car Accidents.

Highways get a lot of use, so it makes sense that they start to break down or need updates to better fit the traffic in the area. When that happens, work zones are set up so workers can fix the road. Some drivers get frustrated while going through work zones and end up speeding or driving recklessly, but that’s dangerous for everybody on the road.

Drivers who get overwhelmed by highway work zones can cause car accidents by driving recklessly, negligently, or by rubbernecking. In 2017, there were over 700 fatal work zone crashes in the United States, according to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Over 90% of those crashes killed drivers and passengers in motor vehicles, but they also killed pedestrians, cyclists, and workers.

A car accident in a work zone can be catastrophic to everyone involved, especially highway workers who do not have the added safety of being inside a car. When you’re not sure who to turn to after your auto wreck, you can count on Prince Law Firm to stand by your side. We can help you recover after an accident that wasn’t your fault.

Nursing home residents are considered to be a vulnerable population. This is because they generally need to rely on nursing home staff to provide them with food, medicine, and daily necessities. When this doesn’t happen, for whatever reason, legal action may be available on the grounds of abuse or neglect.

If you believe your loved one has wrongfully suffered, you’ll likely want to understand the circumstances that led to their harm. In some instances, substance abuse may be a factor—whether staff members abuse drugs while working with residents or a resident’s substance abuse disorder was managed improperly. Let’s take a look at how substance abuse affects nursing home patients and what can be done to limit drug and alcohol abuse in long-term care facilities.

What Information Is Obtainable from a License Plate Number After a Crash?

Published on Mar 12, 2020 at 5:33 pm in Car Accidents.

Collection of license plates

After a car accident, like a hit-and-run, sometimes all you have from the driver at fault is their license plate number. You might want their name, address, and phone number so that you can hold them responsible for their actions. But can you get the driver’s personal information based on their plate?

As an average person, in short, the answer is no. You most likely don’t have direct access to the databases that hold information about drivers. Even though you can’t get anything directly, there are legal ways to find out who is responsible for a car crash based on their plate number.

When drivers don’t pay attention to the road, they can cause accidents. Since interstates typically have more vehicles traveling at high speeds, innocent drivers can sustain serious injuries.
